ABOUT THE BBA COURSE

The University of Calcutta approved the scheme of Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) Course for the affiliated undergraduate colleges. It was conceived by the authorities as a self-financing professional course-perhaps the first of its kind from University of Calcutta. This institution has been offering the BBA (Honours) three-year degree programme since 2004 with the best of facilities.

APPROVAL AND AFFILIATION

The three-year BBA (Honours) programme is affiliated to University of Calcutta.

Eligibility for B.B.A.( Hons. )

Passed in H.S. (10+2) or equivalent examination with minimum 55% of marks in aggregate from any stream, provided she has also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100.
Candidates belonging to SC/ST community must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from any stream.

Aggregate marks shall be calculated by adding the marks in top-four subjects in order of marks secure by a candidate. However, marks in compulsory Environmental Studies/Education shall not be taken into account for calculation of aggregate marks. The subject “Environmental Science” studied as an elective subject of 100 marks may be taken into account for the purpose of determining the aggregate marks.

TEACHING-LEARNING PROCESS

The primary objective of this programme is to provide the students with an opportunity to develop conceptual and analytical skills with an understanding of latest technology to anticipate and manage changes.

Course structure and distribution of marks etc. for B.B.A. (Hons.) Course under 1+1+1 system of Examinations

The medium of instruction for B.B.A. (Hons.) course shall be English and candidate shall have to answer the examination papers in English only.

B.B.A. (Hons.) Course shall be a 3-Year course extending over three academic terms, each term covering one academic year and the examination shall be held in 3 parts, namely, B.B.A. (Hons.) Part-I, Part-II, Part-III.

A candidate shall be eligible to sit for the University examination provided he/she prosecutes a regular course of study in the college and attends at least 75% of Theoretical classes and seminars separately held during the year.

A Candidate of B.B.A. (Hons.) Part-I, Part-II and Part-III shall be examined in the papers mentioned for each part as follows:

In order to pass each examination (Part –I/Part-II/Part-III), a candidate must obtain at least 50% of the total marks in the project work, Comprehensive Vice-Voce, Term Paper (On Job Training) and presentation separately and at least 40% of the total marks in each of the other papers (at least 40% marks separately in Theoretical & Practical portions) and 50% of the total marks of the examination in aggregate.
