This year Deshbandhu College for Girls is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee — completing sixty years in the service of women’s education. To commemorate this very special occasion, a series of state and national level seminars will be organized by various departments of the college throughout the year. The celebrations start from 1st August which is the college foundation day.
To mark the inauguration of the jubilee the department of Sanskrit is organising a two-day National Seminar on `Contribution of Acharyya Prafulla Chandra Ray to Indian Chemistry’. 2nd August is the date of birth of the Indian doyen of chemistry Acharyya Prafulla Chandra Ray. To our great privilege, The Asiatic Society has given their kind consent to join hands with the college in organizing the seminar.
On September 4, 2015 the department of Bengali will be organizing a UGC sponsored State Level seminar on `Sonali Rupoli Sutoy Gantha Sukh-dukhher Rupokar : Lila Majumdar’ in collaboration with Tagore Research Society.
To continue with the jubilee spirit, the Department of Commerce will be organizing a two-day National Seminar on Statistics on 22nd and 23rd September.
