Department of Environmental Science in collaboration with IQAC

organized a Special Lecture to mark the recently observed National

Science Day (28th February). To bring justice to the occasion, we needed a

Speaker who could deliver a popular Science Lecture for our mostly non-

Science background students. We were fortunate to have Dr. Pritha

Bhattacharjee, Assistant Professor & Head, Dept. of Env. Sc., University

of Calcutta, as the keynote Speaker for the occasion.

We also organized a Poster Competition for the students on relevant

Environmental Topics that included Rainwater harvesting, 5 R’s of

Sustainability, Waste to Wealth, Biofuel, Sustainable Farming and ‘Go

Green’. We received overwhelming response from the students, even from

outside campus. Dr. Bhattacharjee readily agreed to be a Jury. She

appreciated the students’ efforts and later announced the Winners.
